Premier Andrews strengthens partnership with Rabbinical Leadership

Premier Daniel Andrews has extended the Victorian Government’s Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Rabbinical Council of Victoria (RCV) through the Community Harmony Program administered by the Multicultural Affairs and Social Cohesion Department.

The Victorian Government bestowed a three year grant to the RCV to continue their work to strengthen relationships between the Jewish community, other faith groups and the wider community.

Premier Daniel Andrews stated, "We are very happy to provide ongoing support for the Rabbinical Council of Victoria as they continue their important work in the community. Our commitment means that the RCV can focus on serving its members, the Jewish community and enriching our vibrant multicultural state."

This extended Strategic Partnership Agreement builds on the Victorian Government’s previous investments which have assisted the council in its efforts on a wide range of issues relevant to the Jewish community and to the broader Victorian public. Professional development has been provided to member Rabbis and their Rebbetzins in areas such as mental health, counselling, domestic violence, child sexual abuse and aged care.

The President of the Rabbinical Council of Victoria, Rabbi Daniel Rabin, welcomed the renewed partnership. “The RCV values the support of Premier Andrews and the Victorian Government and is grateful for their ongoing support and confidence in the RCV’s leadership role in the community and our commitment to building social cohesion.
